Chapter 6

Hey my cute lil cherries 🍒

Here is chap 6

Enjoy...

As she was about to kick him again, her foot trembled. She screamed in horror and panic. For a moment, her world stopped.

Her balance faltered, panic tightening her features, but before she could hit the ground, his hand closed around her wrist, pulling her toward him.

Her heartbeat thundered in her ears while he stood calm and composed,as if catching her had been instinct, not effort. The contrast unsettled her more than the fall.

For a moment, neither of them moved. She was steady now, but her breath was uneven. His grip loosened slowly, as if he was only just realizing how close they were.

"Dekh lo. Tum hi hamesha bhidti rehti ho. Chahe vo log ho ya jameen," he joked, taking a step back.

"Bhagg. Jyada mat bolo. And you were saying you can't move right?" She raised an eyebrow, clearly in a teasing tone.

"Kya hai na me bohot acha hu. Ab tum gir jati aur muh fut jata, to mera entertainment kon karta apni paglo jesi harkato se," he provoked.

And that did it.

His teasing mockery pushed her too far. Before she could stop herself, she slapped him, the sound ringing out in the silence.

That was the last sound audible in the room.

All the others froze. They hadn’t expected this interaction to go that far.

He didn’t move. His jaw tightened slightly as he absorbed the slap, eyes never leaving hers.

A few seconds passed in silence, which felt like minutes.

“That’s all you’ve got?” he said calmly, though his eyes warned otherwise.

"Getting violet huh?" He continued, still calmly, jaw tight, hands clenched at his sides.

"You know what? Bohot ho gya ye mazak. Mene abhi tak light liya tha ki leave it, but that's enough. How can i let someone comment on me? Huh. Just Fuck Off." Her tone was flat as she told him to go away, final and see-through.

He stood still, expression unreadable.

The words didn’t provoke him—they registered. A quiet pause followed, his gaze steady and distant, as if he’d already decided she wasn’t worth the reaction she wanted.

"I would have done that. But no. If that makes u feel at ease, I'll do the complete opposite. Just wait and watch Miss tikhi chatni." This time his words weren’t mocking or teasing, but completely cold.

With that, he walked away, leaving the heavy silence behind.

The other students, who had been silently watching, exited the classroom quickly, barely making any sound, as if noise itself would worsen the atmosphere.

She stood there. Regretting? Of course not. She wasn’t the one who regretted showing people their limits. But there was something—something she couldn’t pinpoint.

After a minute, she scoffed and walked away toward her section.

Back in the C.S. (Computer Science) section, the other two boys were unaware of all this drama.

Yuvraj entered the classroom, storming toward his seat. Composed, but unusually calm.

The other two boys sensed it right away.

A few students who had been present during the whole drama started whispering to their friends.

"What's wrong dude?" Ayaan questioned, seeing his clenched jaw and unreadable expression. "Kuch to hua hai. Tu aur vo Isha lad rahe the na? Kya hua?" Avinash joined, confusion and concern written on his face.

"Us ladki ka to naam bhi na lo to better hai," he grinned through clenched teeth, his anger finally threatening to spill.

"Kya hua bhai?" Ayaan asked again, expecting an answer.

"Us. Tikhi. Chatni. Ne. Muje. Thappad. Mara," he finally answered.

Ayaan and Avinash blinked once, then twice, then thrice, before bursting into full-blown laughter.

"Ek ek ek minute. You are saying, Isha slapped you? Like a slap? Oh my," Ayaan exclaimed in complete amusement and disbelief, checking if he had heard right.

"Bhai agar ye sach hai, to hats off to Isha, man," Avinash chimed in, clutching his stomach and laughing hard.

Yuvraj stared at them in disbelief. He had just said that she slapped him, and they were laughing?

"Tum dono bhi pagal ho gaye ho? Like seriously man, muje us ladki ne thappad mar diya and u guys find it funny?" Yuvraj raised his brows.

"Bhai history me pehli baar thappad khaya hai. New information, man," Ayaan teased between laughs. "Bhai me to sabko bataunga," he added.

"Vo sab to thik hai, par ye sab hua kaise? I mean kyu mara?" Avinash questioned, this time with a bit of seriousness, curious about what had happened exactly.

"Haa bata bata bhai. Muje to itna hi yaad hai ki tune uske skirt pe per rakh diya," Ayaan said, adjusting in his seat, waiting for him to speak.

"Are mene bas usko joker hi bola tha," Yuvraj said in a defensive tone.

"Arey pura sach batao bhai," another classmate from the front bench said. They had become friends over time as classmates.

"Tu hi bata de, Tarun. Kya hua tha?" Avinash turned to Tarun.

"Arey vo isne...............aur isne usko ye sab bola to usko gussa aa gya aur phir, chamatttt," Tarun narrated the whole incident to them.

"Ye gadha hai kya?" Avinash said between laughs. "I mean, ek ladki ko itna kaun sunata hai?" he added with a bit of seriousness.

"Sunaya bhi to galat ladki ko," Ayaan chimed in, laughing again.

"Salo kamino. Tum log mere friends ho ki uske?" Yuvraj asked, disbelief creeping into his voice.

"Of course, tere hi hain. But chahe galti kisi ki bhi ho, maza to aaya bhai," Ayaan replied, trying to control his laugh, seeing Yuvraj’s seriousness.

"Ab us tikhi chatni ki sach me chatni na bana di na, to me apna naam badal dunga," he declared, clearly in a revenge mindset.

"Vo to dekha jaega. Abhi ke liye class pe focus kar," Avinash said as his laughter finally settled, though the smile still lingered on his face.

On the other hand, Isha walked into her classroom silently and sat beside Kiara, who was engrossed in her notes.

"Itna time kaha laga diya? Jagade me?" Kiara asked, not looking up from her book. But Isha didn’t answer. She just pressed her fingers to her temples, closing her eyes briefly.

"Yuvraj ko thappad maar ke aayi hai ye baddie ji," Ruhi, their classmate, answered with an amused smile.

"Kyaaaaaa?! Isha ne Yuvraj ko thappad mar diya?" Kiara repeated in complete disbelief. "Aur tujhe kaise pata? Tu wahi thi na kab se?" She turned to Ruhi.

"Arey sab jagah baat fail gyi hai. Saare log group chats pe isi baare me gossip kar rahe hain," Ruhi replied, opening her phone and showing the group chat.

Isha still said nothing. Not even a trace of regret was visible on her face.

"Ishaa, kya karu me tera," Kiara placed her palm on her forehead. "Ye maar-peet kab band karegi tu? Tune Yuvraj ko thappad mar diya, vo bhi chhote se jhagde ke liye?" Kiara shook her head, disappointed. "Dekh, aise chhote-mote jhagde to hote rehte hain. Us wajah se tu aise hi kisi ko maar degi?" she asked incredulously.

"Aise—" Kiara started, but Isha interrupted with a sharp voice,

"Tu waha nahi thi, Kiara. You don't even know what he said to me," she said, her voice tight with hurt and anger. "Usne... usne muje jo kaha tha vo tum logo ke liye common hoga but... that isn't for me... vo words, vo sentence, muje..." Her voice trailed off, quiet now, carrying deep, unhealed pain.

"Tu bhi gussa ho jati aur samajhti ki kyu muje itna trigger hua us baat se, agar tujhe pata hota ki usne muje kya kaha," she continued, voice steady, face calm and composed, but her eyes carried an underlying heaviness, something deeper.

Kiara, finally realizing she shouldn’t have said anything without knowing the whole story, asked softly, "Kya hua tha?" Her words were short, voice filled with regret.

Isha stayed silent for a few beats.

"Baad me baat karte hain. Abhi class sun le," she said. Her expression was calm now, but the year-old hurt and buried wounds were still visible beneath the surface.

"Par—... okay. Let’s talk later. Abhi relax kar thoda," Kiara said, trying to sound cheerful, but the heaviness lingered.

The classes passed in a blur for Isha.

Lunch time.

"Chalo, Tanu di canteen me hogi, I guess," Isha said, standing up.

"Haa, chal chalte hain. Bhukh lagi hai," Kiara replied as they walked toward the canteen.

__

In the canteen, Tanu was sitting and scrolling through social media while waiting for them. She waved as they entered.

"Jaldi aao yaar," she complained. "Jaldi baitho," she added impatiently.

Once both of them settled, Tanu spoke with curiosity, "Now spill the tea," clapping her hands and leaning forward.

Kiara quickly grabbed Tanu’s arm and whispered, "She is in a bad mood. It’s serious."

"Par aisa kya hua?" Tanu whispered back, concerned now.

"Pata nahi. Usne kuch bataya nahi hai. But I think Yuvraj ne kuch aisa bola hai which triggered her," Kiara whispered, glancing at Isha before looking back at Tanu.

"Will you guys stop murmuring?" Isha asked, her voice laced with mild irritation now, not the earlier sharpness.

"Ishu, if you are comfortable now, can you share what happened?" Tanu asked gently.

"Usne muje bola 'ki agr tum gir jati aur muh phut jata to mera Entertainment kon karta apni paglo jesi harkato se.' Mera dimag khaska aur mene maar diya repta," she explained with a shrug.

The word entertainment left a heavy silence at the table. They knew this wasn’t just a word for Isha,

it was one of her deepest wounds.

"Ishu..." Kiara whispered. "Tu... tu theek hai na?"

"We understand why you got triggered. That sentence... that incident... it must be hard for you," Tanu said, her usual playfulness gone.

"Areyy, come on guys. Tum log muje jaante ho na, me un logon me se nahi hu jo rote baith jaaye. Usne jo bola muje achha nahi laga, to mene thappad maar diya. Baat khatam. Ab ye baat leke mat baith jana," Isha rolled her eyes, clearly not wanting to talk about the past or the present incident. The girls sensed the underlying hurt but didn’t press further.

On the other side of the canteen, unaware of the heaviness, the boys were having lunch. Ayaan and Avinash laughed now and then at random topics, while Yuvraj ate with a deadpan expression, still in a bad mood.

"Abe oye, bolega kuch ya sanyas lene ka soch raha hai thappad khane ke baad?" Ayaan joked.

Avinash shot him a warning look, sensing Yuvraj’s mood, but Ayaan only clicked his tongue.

"Come on man, bade bade shehro me aisi chhoti chhoti baate hoti rehti hain," Ayaan declared dramatically.

"Me tujhe thappad maar dunga abhi. Chup chaap kha le, nahi to," Yuvraj snapped, irritation lacing his voice.

"Dekh raha hai, Avinash? Ek ladki ne thappad kya maar diya, pura focus ab uspe laga diya hai isne. Dosti me dagabaazi kar raha hai," Ayaan said in an over-the-top dramatic tone.

"Iski toh..." Yuvraj grabbed the tissue stand and threw it in Ayaan’s direction. Ayaan dodged it easily.

"Salo kamino, best friends ho ki dushman?" Yuvraj rolled his eyes.

"Dono!" Ayaan and Avinash replied in unison, bursting into laughter. Yuvraj shook his head in disbelief, a reluctant smile tugging at his lips.

Lunch ended soon enough, and the students returned to their respective classrooms.

___

A few minutes were left before the last bell rang. Students were suddenly energetic

, ready to leave.

Just then, the speakers turned on.

"Important announcement, my dear students. Attention here............."

The principal’s voice echoed through the classrooms.
